Laura: My name is Laura, I’m from Washington. This is my husband.
Brandon: I’m Brandon. I also from Washington, obviously. I’ve been in Freedom Mentor for a year now.
Laura: Just over a year.
Brandon: We want to be part of Freedom Mentor because of the opportunity that we saw for our future, the direction we want to go. We saw it as a vehicle where we see ourselves and where we’re at. Yes, that was the main reason, it was opportunity.
Laura: What we like about Freedom Mentor is being able to reach out and be coached. There’s questions that pop up all the time, you think something is just going to be an easy, smooth transaction. Of course, something comes up and there’s always someone there to reach out to and get a solid answer so that you know how to proceed forward.
Brandon: Yes, we’re in Daytona Beach 2019 Mastery. It’s just been a great experience for us to actually see some people that are in this program, and hear their stories, hear their testimonies and their success, and where they’re coming from, and actually put faces with names, and hear those success stories has been been good.
Laura: Yes, it’s been motivating and let’s us realize that there are so many different aspects that we haven’t tapped into quite yet. But just being in our first year where we’re definitely excited and ready to move forward, and try other avenues as well all within the same program.
Brandon: It’s one thing seeing Phil on a YouTube video, that’s a whole another thing when you’re shaking his hand, and getting to meet him, and seeing his personalities. You kind of feel like you already know him a little bit through the YouTube videos, but he’s the same guy as he is on the screen as he is here. It’s just more confidence booster for us as well that this is real, this is a real thing, and it works, and there’s a lot of people doing it.
Laura: The main success deal that was mentioned yesterday at the mastery was we ended up having a seller who brought $45,000 to closing. He put it in an escrow so that we were able to do any rehab to the house, very light, all just very cosmetic, and then resell the house to make a profit. Definitely dealing with different motivation levels, we’re seeing where that 1% comes into play versus someone who’s just wanting a valuation for their house.
Brandon: To the other win, I mean that was a big success for us and that ended up making us quite a bit of money, both Freedom Mentor and ourselves. It was success was another reason we wanted to get into it was to help people as well, that was a huge motivator for us, starting just from our backgrounds and kind of where we came from to have an individual that didn’t know what to do. He didn’t have any idea, any direction, and he was going to wander off there and he was going to go in even more debt to take care of this house. We were able to navigate him through the coaching from the Freedom Mentor coaches what to do and what actions to take. He’s a lot happier now with that.
Laura: Yes. We even took our own truck and helped him move. He was just a very nice guy, and someone else offered him 50,000 less than what we offered, so he would’ve had to take out and pay 95,000. He was willing to do that and ready to do that. The fact that we were able to look at it gave him more than what he was asking for and make it reasonable. It was just a win-win situation all around, he was happy, we’re happy, it worked out.
Phil and the coaches are awesome. I’ve reach out frequently to them. Typically, we speak to Brian Bush and he’s been a huge help in all of our transactions. Usually if we have a question, we just reach out to him, he’ll typically have an answer with that. We’re very grateful. We’ve spoken to most all of the coaches and we appreciate all of them very much.
Brandon: I’d say on top of that, what I appreciate most about the coaches and Phil is their approach to everything. It’s unique, it’s not what everyone else is doing, and that was a big draw for both of us too. Most people we talked to that are trying to get in real estate or who are now curious about what we’re doing, they have a certain mindset which we did too if this is how it has to be done, whereas Phil and these guys are always evolving that mindset and that approach. We recognize that and that’s what we want it to be a part of. We really appreciate them.
Laura: Yes. It was to the point where when we very first signed up and anyone who we spoke to about what we were doing and the new adventure in our life, they were all very-
Brandon: Opinionated.
Laura: … guarded, opinionated, and it was never really a positive. Now a year later, everyone’s kind of asking-
Brandon: Eyebrows raised.
Laura: … more deeper questions, “How do you get involved?”, because they see that it’s working.
Brandon: Have faith, take a step, put yourself… What I told family members and people who’ve asked is put yourself in that place of success, and then push the rewind button, and then imagine what it took for you to get there and just do those things, do those choices, and it starts with, it’s a risk. This is going to be a risk for you no matter what, no matter which direction you’re going to go in life. Make the tough choices now and it’ll pay off, just keep working towards that vision you have in your head of success, rewind from there.
Laura: It’s definitely not for everybody, just like every job isn’t for everybody, but if this is something that you’re interested and passionate about, and you are willing to put the time in, it can definitely pay off.
Brandon: Yes, you got to know what your goals are first, for sure it’ll help because it’s going to get bumpy, it’s not going to be smooth. If you have those in place, and that’ll help.
Laura: Yes.
