James : Yeah. This is my fiance. Yeah.
Dina: My name is Dina. I’m also from Maryland.
James: Well, I got involved about… I think it was about three years now, two years, two and a half, three years now. I wanted something different than my just nine to five job. I’m a CAD designer for a civil engineering firm, and I just wanted to do something other than just do that for the next 30 years of my life and also have more money and be able to do things, travel, and that type of stuff.
So that’s what got me involved. Late night… What do you call it? Surfing on the internet. I was doing that and came across Phil’s video and it was about becoming an Apprentice and learning how. And I watched a couple videos and did a little more research. And then I reached out and got called back and had a conversation with Tom. And after that it was just where I’m at today, doing deals and making money and have a good time.
Dina Hartman: I always knew that he was interested in real estate because he had told me that even prior to three years ago that he had been interested in trying to get something together with his father. And so when he told me that he invested in this basically new career for herself, I was very skeptical, very skeptical because I was one of the people that thought that this was just some sort of racket. And now being alongside of him and seeing the deals that he’s been been able to do and what he’s learned from the deals and the fact that he always has the ability to find the answers either by himself through his own research or by talking to a coach, that I’m able to defend against the people who used to… who had the same views that I used to have.
James McNeil: First it was a little struggle having a full time job, but overcame that. And now I made a few deals. My recent deals I had done is I had a $40,000 profit, $30,000 profit. And there was, you know, getting over those little humps and just trying to figure things out. But the team that they have involved with this whole Freedom Mentor is great. Some of the coaches had to basically put their foot in my butt to get me to go on. But you know… But it was… I did it, and now I’m enjoying everything and having fun.
It’s better than any other kind of course I took previously. It was kind of like other courses where they have a little training, and then they kind of just, like a bird, they shove you out the nest and you just fall and go. But they actually hold your hand. Not really. I guess hold your hand at first, but then…
Dina Hartman: It’s a security blanket.
James McNeil: Yeah. You know what I mean? They talk you through the deals, sometimes find the deals, help you figure out how to get it on the contract, get it closed so you can make money and keep on moving forward.
I still want my full time job. Eventually leave that and then make this full time. There’s a whole lot more money in it, you know? So it’s been good. Believe me. I amaze myself with what I’ve accomplished so far, and it’s just wonderful right now, you know what I mean?
