#110: We Have Learned So Much and We Were Able To Profit. It Was Absolutely Worth It.

Hi, my name is Heather, and my husband and I joined the Freedom Mentor Program a little less than a year ago. He had rental properties for about 10 years, but always wanted to get more into real estate. So last March, 2016, when we were on vacation, he actually found Phil’s program online and, after discussions back and forth, we decided to joined Freedom Mentor, and I even pursued my real estate license.

Our goal is to, obviously, close deals. But the purpose of that is to supplement our full-time jobs and enable us to create more opportunities for our three kids. So we are doing this in addition to our jobs, and it’s been an interesting road.

We just finally closed our first deal. We had three deals under contract prior to this, but we did a lot wrong. We made a lot of mistakes. And through talking with the coaches, we learned how to initiate a purchase from the get-go correctly, the right questions to ask, the right things to do, and it finally all came together.

So we just sold, or flipped, our first property and three great things came out that. First, the sellers, who we purchased the property from, were in desperate times and really needed to get out from under it. So we helped them. We helped our buyer, who had some financing issues but really wanted this property, and we were able to help him work through those and get a property of his dreams. And thirdly, we were able to profit, after our split with Freedom Mentor, $25,000.

So we may have had some bumps in the road, it may have taken us awhile, but it was absolutely worth it. So what I would leave you with is, if you get impatient, if you get discouraged, if you just listen to the coaches it will happen. We have learned so much and in addition to a wonderful profit, the lessons we’ve learned we absolutely know are going to help us pick up the pace from here on out.
